Christina Conti has resided in Bayonne, NJ for over 20 years. She is a senior at New Jersey City University with a duel major in Media Arts and Elementary Education. A four year dean´s list student, Christina was accepted into Who's Who Among American College and University Students, and was awarded and recognized as a 2007 University Achiever. In August 2006 she completed a nine month internship with Walt Disney World performing in the Entertainment Department, while studying at Disney University. In summer 2007, she completed an internship with Radio Disney, and at the completion of the internship, was offered a part time job. Currently, she interns for the Black Maria Film and Video Festival and is a teaching assistant for the production courses, Foundations of Media Design, and Sound I. Christina's experimental short film Flim Flam Man was screened at the annual Media Arts Department Showcase at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater in May 2006.
Nedelka Douglas was born in Panama City, Panama, on May 28, 1979. She left Panama at the tender age of ten and moved to the United States with her family in the midst of the turmoil surrounding the eventual overthrow of General Manuel Norriega. Ms. Douglas has served the Media Arts Department as a work-study student, and participated in the Cooperative Education Program as an intern at CN-8. She currently resides in Jersey City and plans to graduate from the Media Arts Department of New Jersey City University in 2008.
Maria Espinosa was born in Quito, Ecuador on November 7, 1980. Her family moved to the Unites States in 1981. They settled in Newark, NJ where they lived until Maria was 20 years old. She currently resides in Jersey City, NJ. Ms. Espinosa entered NJ City University as a Fine Arts Major but soon found herself drawn more into photography and film. Hew work incorporates 16mm film and video and a serious focus on photographic composition. She graduates with a B. A. in Media Arts in January 2008.
Michael Krivicka was born in Slovakia in 1976 and has been exposed to the film world from day one through his father´s profession as an actor. In 1986, Michael´s parents decided to escape the communist regime and moved to Germany to apply for asylum. Michael, and his younger sister Sylvia, were enrolled in a local German school and started an adventurous life in a new country. In 1996, Michael graduated high school and moved to the United States. He received his Associates Degree in Arts and moved on to Jersey City, NJ. In 2000, Michael graduated summa cum laude from NJ City University with his BA in Media Arts and received the prestigious Celeste Holme Award for Excellence in Media Production, as well as the 2nd Prize at the New Jersey Young Film and Video Makers Festival with his first short film Down. The same year, Michael started working as an in-house editor for a small production company in the heart of New York City and began producing and editing a series of film and video projects in collaboration with his former classmate and life-long friend, Juneyup Yi. Their countless projects gained immediate success at film festivals nationwide. In 2003, Michael spent an entire year directing, producing, and editing Subway Melodies, which premiered at the Black Point Film Festival and received publication in the Filmmaker Magazine. He then returned to 16mm film and directed New York Talk, which has been screened at numerous film festivals in the United States, Canada, Germany, and France. Michael is currently living and working in Prague.
Maria F. Larrea was born in Ecuador in 1978 and has lived in NJ since 1993. She currently resides in North Bergen, NJ. She is an alumnus of the Media Arts Department earning a B.A. in Media Arts when she graduated in May 2007. Her excellent academic achievement placed her on the Dean´s List of New Jersey City University. She also holds an Associates Degree in Broadcasting earned at Bergen Community College in 2002. Her works incorporating 16mm black and white film, animation, and digital video have been screened at the Landmark Loew´s Jersey Theatre in Jersey City, NJ during the Annual NJ City University Media Arts Department Showcase in both May ´06 and May ´07.
Louis Libitz was born in Jersey City, NJ and now resides in Bayonne, NJ. He is an award-winning videomaker and graduate teaching assistant who received the prestigious Shaffer Award from the graduate faculty, of Syracuse University, College of Visual and Performing Arts, and graduated with his M. F. A. from Syracuse University in May 2007. His work has been screened at Anthology Film Archives and the Robert Beck Memorial Cinema in NYC; the Landmark Loew´s Jersey Theater and The Jersey City Museum in Jersey City, NJ; and at the Hoboken Historical Museum in Hoboken, NJ. His work has been screened at the Fine Art School of the Aristotelian University in Thessaloniki, Greece; at the 7th Biennial of Video and New Media of Santiago, Contemporary Museum of Art, Santiago, Chile; and at the York Arts Gallery in York, PA. He received an Honorable Mention at the 24th Annual Black Maria Film/Video Festival. Louis designs and creates DVD´s for other artists/filmmakers, and is highly sought after as a video and audio post-production engineer. Upon graduation from NJ City University, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Joseph Drew Award for Excellence in Production. He taught as an adjunct professor of video production in the Media Arts Department at NJ City University, and advanced post-production at the Department of Transmedia at Syracuse University. His work has been featured at the Cape May Film Festival, SPEMA (Society for Photographic Education Mid-Atlantic Region) at the University of Pennsylvania, at the Red Saw Gallery in Newark, NJ, the Hoboken Historical Museum, and at the Athens Film and Video Festival. He is currently teaching in the Media Arts Department, NJCU, and is the Assistant Director/Associate Program Coordinator of the Black Maria Film and Video Festival.
Shawn Nadolny was born in 1983 and grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey. He majors in Media Arts with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. He plans to graduate from New Jersey City University in May of 2008. His work has been screened at Hudson Pride Connections, in the Media Arts Department Showcase at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater, and has been donated to the Speicher-Rubin Women's Center at NJCU. Shawn participated in the Cooperative Education Internship program working at the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission in the Fall of 2007. He is currently completing post-production on his documentary, Genuine.
Anthony Rudick was born in Westwood, New Jersey, and has been living in Closter, New Jersey for 20 years. He is an extremely well-rounded individual having worked in theater, film production, and video editing. He is currently employed as an editor at a major broadcasting network, MSNBC. He has also participated in the production work for several independent films and one major motion picture staring Tim Allen, which will be released in 2008. He has been working for several years as a mechanical engineers´ assistant in the production of creating special types of screws and fasteners for aerospace and military suppliers. In his younger years he participated in many theatrical plays for school and outside production companies. His part in the majority of these plays consisted of lighting director/operator to sound designer and stagehand. Anthony is an ambitious and highly talented producer/director/editor. He plans to graduate from the Media Arts Department in December of 2008.
Martha Sandoval was born in Managua, Nicaragua on November 2, 1982. Escaping revolutionary turmoil, her family moved to the U.S. in search for a better life in 1987. She is currently living in Roselle, NJ. She pursued her passion for media in 2005. In the fall of 2006 she interned at Univision WXTV-41 and is currently the assistant to the Director of Communication. She is a senior at NJ City University and plans to graduate in May 2008 with a B.A. in Media Arts.
