Keith Bracker - was born in Manhattan in 1981, grew up in the Bronx, and then moved to Irvington, NJ at the age of seven, where he currently resides. Upon graduation from Frank H. Morrell High School in Irvington, he enrolled as a Media Arts major at New Jersey City University. He will be completing his major in Media Arts and his minor in English in Spring 2006. Keith works in both film and video production. His work has been screened at the Annual Media Arts Department Showcase at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater, in Jersey City.
Elizabeth Jane Cavanagh - was born in Boston, Massachusetts in September 1981. She attended Columbia High School where she won several film festival awards including the New Jersey Young Film and Video Makers’ Festival. She completed her B.A. in Media Arts at NJ City University. Her current work in film and video is personal and provocative as it addresses themes of race and gender. Her work, Milatto screened at the Robert Beck Memorial Cinema at Collective Unconscious, NYC, in October 2003 and in numerous venues in New Jersey in 2004. Upon her graduation from NJ City University, she received the prestigious Dr. Joseph Drew Award for Excellence in Production. She is also in demand as a visiting artist and has presented work produced by the Womenswork Media Collective - based at NJ City University - in numerous educational venues in New Jersey. Elizabeth now works with inner-city high school students and teaches documentary filmmaking. She is a free-lance camera operator and is an independent producer of film and video. Elizabeth screens her work actively and has been honored in numerous film festivals.
Teri Clarke - was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1983. She resides in Piscataway, NJ where she has lived for most of her life. She is a Media Arts major and an English minor at New Jersey City University and is a Spring 2006 graduate. Teri tutors English and freelances anywhere and everywhere she can in media production.
Michael Difeo - was born in North Bergen in 1984. He is a dual major studying for his B. A. in Media Arts, and his B. F. A. in Photography. He plans on graduating in May of 2007. His work has been screened at the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater in Jersey City. He is currently working as a researcher for Fox’s Judge Alex and freelances as a musician/teacher/photographer/utility/pa/grip.
Steven Dressler - was born in Trenton, NJ in 1976 and resides in nearby Ewing Township. He began recording instrumental music at age 14. He attended New Jersey City University from 1996 until his graduation in 2000, when he received a B.A. in the Media Arts. During his studies at NJCU, he created the music and sound design for Thomas Torres and Ron Grossberndt’s film “Sonido Blanco.” The film was awarded a Director’s Choice at the 2000 Black Maria Film Festival, Best Short Film at the International Latino Film Festival (San Francisco), and has been shown on the Sundance Channel’s Latino Shorts. He is also responsible for the music and sound in “creationsong,” his thesis film with Justin Strawhand and Enrique Veloz. From 2001 to 2004 Mr. Dressler had a work-at-home job, laid in bed, lost contact with all friends, and left the house only a couple of times a month. In 2005 he composed the soundtrack for NJCU graduate Delmira Valladares’ University Of Pennsylvania MFA Thesis film, “Union City.” He also recorded the music and sound design for Ms. Valladares’ “Family Planning,” which has screened as part of the Womenswork Collective traveling showcase. Most recently, Mr. Dressler re-recorded the vocals for “People Pretending To Be Me,” a light pop song from his 2000 NJCU self-portrait video of the same name. He plans to continue working on soundtrack music and light pop.
Louis Libitz - was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and now resides in Syracuse, New York and Jersey City, NJ. He is an award-winning videomaker currently studying for his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Art Video at Syracuse University, where he was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. His work has been screened at Anthology Film Archives and the Robert Beck Memorial Cinema in NYC; the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater and The Jersey City Museum in Jersey City, New Jersey; and at the Hoboken Historical Museum in Hoboken, NJ. His work has been screened at the Fine Art School of the Aristotelian University in Thessaloniki, Greece; at the 7th Biennial of Video and New Media of Santiago, Contemporary Museum of Art, Santiago, Chile; and at the York Arts Gallery in York, PA. He received an Honorable Mention at the 24th Annual Black Maria Film/Video Festival for his film, “Giorno Di Festivita.” Louis designs and creates DVD’s for other artists/filmmakers, and is highly sought after as a video and audio post-production engineer. Upon graduation from New Jersey City University, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Joseph Drew Award for Excellence in Production. He taught as an adjunct professor of video production in the Media Arts Department at New Jersey City University, and teaches advanced post-production at the Department of Transmedia at Syracuse University.
Melissa Polin - was born in Rahway, New Jersey in January 1982, and currently lives in Eatontown, New Jersey. She attended Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City on a scholarship in 2000 to study advertising design, but transferred to New Jersey City University in 2001 to study media arts, where she has concentrated in sound post-production and video. Her accomplishments led her to serve as a teaching assistant in audio production courses in the Media Arts Department. She has also worked on a number of award-winning narrative shorts as a location sound recordist and Foley artist. Her work has been screened at the Media Arts Department Showcase at the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater, at the Fort Lee Museum, the Hoboken Historical Museum, the MakeReady Press Gallery in Montclair, NJ, the Red Saw Gallery in Newark and at the Jersey City Museum. She is a staff member/co-curator of the URBAN IMAGE film and video collective, and a member of the Womenswork Media Collective based at NJ City University. Melissa plans to enroll in a film studies master’s degree program upon graduation from the Media Arts Department in 2006.
Daniel Robert Rose - was born on September 9, 1970 in Newark, NJ, better known as Brick City. He attended high school at Clifford J. Scott in East Orange, NJ. His interest in media production began in high school when he was a stage crew assistant. He went on to study film and video production at Art Institute of Miami in 1990. He attended Union County College in 1992, and during his first semester he was inspired by his grand aunt, Mabel Upshaw, to study film. “In life become a historian in film. Use the tools that the lord gave you to tell our history and culture.” Daniel’s film, “What is Hip-Hop?” was screened at a Union County College film festival. He enrolled in New Jersey City University in 2000, and is a Spring 2006 graduate. Daniel’s work has also been screened at the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater, in Jersey City.
Summer Wosu - was born in 1984 in Jersey City, NJ. She attended American University before entering the Media Arts Department at New Jersey City University in 2005. She currently works at the Hetrick-Martin Institute - a New York City based non-profit organization devoted to serving the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning youth.
