Urban Image Showcase |
The URBAN IMAGE MEDIA COLLECTIVE invites current students and alumni of NJCU's Media Arts Department to submit short works of their choice to "Mixed Bag." Entries may include but are not limited to documentary, satire, personal narrative, experimental mixed-media, and animation. The Premiere of "Mixed Bag" will be held on Friday evening, June 4th, 2010, at the Jersey City Museum.
URBAN IMAGE supports works that possess artistic vitality and explores the expressive potential of the medium. There are no specific entry categories; each work is considered within the context of its maker's intent and with an appreciation for originality. Works may be excerpted if necessary to accommodate the overall length of the program.
All submissions must include a Call for Entries Form available by request via email from Jane Steuerwald at jane@jpcole.com. Call for Entries forms are also available in the mail slot at Professor Steuerwald's office in the Media Arts Department, Fries Hall, NJCU.
Please submit your film/video entry in MOV format if possible.* The preferred method is to submit a data disc containing the MOV file directly to Jane Steuerwald's office. Alternatively, if your piece is quite short, you can email the file directly to jane@jpcole.com, or if necessary use www.transferbigfiles.com to email the work to jane@jpcole.com. If you are submitting a data disc with your MOV file, you can mail it or deliver it with your name and title of work to Professor Jane Steuerwald, URBAN IMAGE, Media Arts Dept., Fries Hall, NJ City University, 2039 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City NJ, 07305. Please email jane@jpcole.com with any questions about format, dates, deadlines, etc. *Please note – works may also be submitted in Mini-DV or DVD if absolutely necessary.
