About the Artists

Irving Abreu was born in 1983 in a small town called Jarabacoa, in the Dominican Republic. He settled in Jersey City, NJ after spending a year or two hopping around different cities in New York with his family. In high school he participated in The William H. Cosby Future Filmmakers Workshop at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Irving's first solo film, "Silent Witness," was screened to the public at Nike's Future Filmmakers Film Festival in 2000. He came to New Jersey City University in the fall of 2001, and has had his work screened at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater. He received his BA in Media Arts in 2010, and currently lives in Rahway, NJ.

Keith Bracker was born and raised in New York City and now lives in Irvington, NJ. He graduated from New Jersey City University in 2006 with a B. A. in Media Arts. He won the First Prize award for his experimental short, "I am…me" in 2006 at the New Jersey Young Film and Videomakers' Festival, and has had his short works screened at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater in Jersey City and at the Jersey City Museum. Since graduation he has directed, written, and produced several short films, which he plans to screen in the summer of 2011.

Christopher Englese was born in New Jersey in 1979, and is a writer/filmmaker once again rooted in Jersey City. He is a New Jersey City University MAD alumnus of 2001 and completed his Master of Philosophy degree at Columbia University in 2006. This program allowed him the privilege of researching his dissertation at the ancient universities of Glasgow and St. Andrews in Scotland. Entertaining many while boring some, his works have played internationally and he is humbled by the response. Christopher continues to work freelance in film and television, eagerly waiting the day he makes his final student loan payment. His experience in media production is extensive including his work as an art director, as a first assistant camera operator and editor, a photographer, and a production manager. He has worked abroad in Scotland and Britain and in New York City. He is currently employed by Ride5 Media Group, and has spent the last year working on the documentary "Mindflux," a portrait of acclaimed avant-garde playwright and theater director, Richard Foreman.

Loredana Gasparatto was born in Bassano Del Grappa, Italy. The daughter of an ex-nun and an inventor she began performing at the age of seven both in dance and theater. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts in Milan, where she took part in modern dance and theater productions. After winning a scholarship and studying musical theater at the Bernstein Musical Theater School in Bologna, she moved to New York City and attended the Lee Strasberg Institute and the Susan Slavin Actor's and Singer's Academy. She began studying filmmaking at New Jersey City University's Media Arts Department by making videos and short films. She is currently finishing her first feature length screenplay and is writing a treatment for a psychological thriller about love and the supernatural, based on the lives and works of Roman Polanski and Michael Bulgakov. She graduates with her B. A. in Media Arts in 2010.

Brenton Goheen was born in Oakland, California and grew up in San Francisco and Los Angeles before transplanting to New York. While working a temporary gig with MTV, he discovered a passion to find engaging, creative work and has since been pursuing a path towards a career in the entertainment industry. Brenton is majoring in Media Arts and is currently a senior at New Jersey City University. Two of his current short films premiered at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater in May 2010. He is a Dean's List recipient and expects to graduate in Spring 2011.

Charles Hunter was born in 1984 in Bayonne, NJ. He was a pharmacy student at Rutgers University before transferring to New Jersey City University's Media Arts Department. His work has screened at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater, has been purchased by the Klett Publishing Company in Germany, and has been featured on the front page of CNN and CNNmoney.com. He graduates from New Jersey City University with his B. A. in Media Arts in August 2010.

Elizabeth Morchel was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1987. She graduated from New Jersey City University with a B.A in Media Arts in May 2010. Ms. Morchel's work includes experimental film and video and deals with manipulation of the medium itself. Her films also question gender roles and the sexuality of young women. Her work has been screened at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater in Jersey City. In 2009 she received an honorable mention in the New Jersey Young Film and Video Makers' Festival.

LeShannon Wright was born in 1987, in Jersey City, New Jersey and is a 2010 graduate of the Media Arts Department of New Jersey City University. She is an innovative filmmaker using her own poetry in her productions. Her love for the avant-garde initiated during her studies has profoundly shaped the way she shoots, directs, and edits all of her work. Ms. Wright's films have been screened at the annual Media Arts Department Showcase at the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theater in Jersey City, NJ. As a videographer she continues to plunge into the experimental aesthetic of filmmaking and specializes in video editing.
